FGB were recently approached by Red House Productions who are a company filming a new television programme for Channel 4. The programme to be presented by Sarah Beeney of Property Ladder due to air next spring, follows members of the public having construction nightmares with their properties.
FGB were asked to monitor a property in Hull which is being subjected to soil shrinkage at foundation level due to a number of large trees adjacent to the house extracting excess moisture through their roots from the clayey subsoils on which the housed is founded, thus causing the property to differentially subside adjacent to the offending tree line.
FGB will be voluntarily monitoring the property at monthly intervals to determine the current rate of subsidence and any effect once the offending trees are felled.
