Licensing & PPC Authorisation
Waste activity will always require some authorisation from the Environment Agency and the staff are experience in negotiating with the officerÆs on the most appropriate way of licensing or permitting an activity and providing a working plan or PPC application for waste treatment and disposal. The application for a waste licence of permit requires numerous risk assessments and these are provided to the AgencyÆs template.
Abstraction and discharge consents are needed from the Environment Agency for any transport or use of water at an operation. Most quarries and pits have to pump water or use it in the processing of mineral. If that is the case then a licence will have to be applied for and the legislation is currently being reviewed by DEFRA to time limit water transport. It is likely that all licences applied for in the future will require a hydrogeological report and an assessment of any effect on the water resource.
