Tunnel Surveying
FGB have carried out tunnel surveys for as built and for construction for over 40 years. The company have a qualified mine surveyor and surveyors who are familiar with civil engineering projects both in UK and overseas.
The construction of tunnels is usually associated with the water industry or transport and the surveyors undertake work to ensure the tunnel is on line between the two points, on grade for flow or track grade and ensure the tunnel lining is in tolerance.
Along the length of the tunnel will be shafts and inspection chambers and the surveyors provide control for the vertical lining and intersection with the tunnel.
The surveying requirements of tunnels is a specialist service and is similar to mining surveying.
