Topographical Surveying
Total Stations are used for topographical surveys to gather data on the built environment in urban areas, to carry out internal and external building surveys and undertake civil engineering surveys for clients and engineers. The survey instrument records the data and this is downloaded into a laptop to be edited so that the data and the drawing can be annotated in the office.
The surveyors also use the total stations for boundary surveys and providing survey control for setting out buildings and other objects such as drains and roads.
